I think I broke a hip...well I dunno...it hurts. I didn't go to school today...surprise, surprise. I did get a little studying done but unfortunately...tv's and heavy blaring metallica causes some difficulties. I have to work at 4 but am desperately trying to get out of it so I can go to the library and study...and avoid a certain supervisor. Oh well...may as well try! Anywho...still 2 chapters to go!

So...there are new pictures up on the picture link...enjoy the drunken antics of mostly me.
I am dreading going to bed as I would have to think...I am not enjoying the thinking so much...I'm trying to avoid it. I'm so frustrated and yet at the same time I have totally given up caring...but would ache for that inch of the other person caring. So anyways...mom asked me about school tonight and she gets how bored I am of it. That's a bonus..hope she didn't find my page...oh jeepers.

Shan says: Janette is the greatest friend ever. Thank you so much for my brand spanking new commenting system. Janette is the most wonderfulest person in the world. I owe her one million dollars.
I'm at school for the first time in days but I packed a good lunch and am raring to go.

beef of the day...
I seriously hate stupid reasons making me upset...a.k.a. boys. Last night...saw someone I haven't seen in a long time...I was a stronger person than the last time I saw him but still...today...upset. Another boy...also out last night...heard some junk today...what happens...Shan gets upset. well...here's the thing. I'm not here as the in-between girlfriends tramp. single boys have flocked to me in the past and used me until they get a girlfriend and then I get left in the corner. The people who SAY they know me the best would realize that I am way too effing sensitive for this so why do they do it. Why don't they just tell me that I am their best friend or how much I mean to them...why tell other people. Seriously...today at dodgeball...look out.
On a happier note...Golden Globes are on tonight...great another reason to cry.

Major Decision....stupid idea? OR future life?
I've decided to go out for Canadian Idol. I don't know if this is a stupid idea or another step in the right direction. I am very nervous...I'm making a small catalogue of songs to try out on friends and family. I made this decision while watching American Idol...as I get very frustrated and ambitious even while watching shows like that. I think to myself...I could totally do better. Well, better get off my ass and try. If it doesn't happen then that's fine. Rachael and I will be travelling to sleep out for auditions in February (brr) and she made me promise not to cry. No guarantees from my end. People have been really positive about it...some have laughed. It's something that takes balls to do...and while I am a big chicken horribly scared of rejection...I may as well try.

Somewhere Over The Rainbow...
I'm sitting here listening to Eva Cassidy's version of Over the Rainbow and I'm getting all emotional. I have been really unhappy with my job lately because of personal and proffesional reasons...everytime I try to leave, I get lazy or sucked back in. So I have been just peeking at the job bank lately and seeing what else is out there. Yesterday, there was a post for a "social animator" to bridge the gap between the community and the french schools. It's with the department of education, only requires a high school diploma and the ability to speak and read french. Now...don't all jump at it just because I'm advertising...it's a 40 hour a week job. SO THERE SCHOOL SUCKAS...oh wait, you guys are all getting educations...never mind. Just don't take my job ;)
Dodgeball tonight was fun besides getting my finger broken/bruised...something...all I know is it hurts. i slept in until 130 pm and therefore it's no sleep for shan...crap...I have school tommorow...ew, school.

Coldplay was named Spin's band of the year in their January 2004 issue. I am so giddy...I'm not one for the music magazines but man, I saw that foxy Chris Martin staring me in the face...couldn't leave him behind. I love finding out new facts about the band....I love hearing that they have fans like Justin Timberlake, P.Diddy, Brandy, Renee Zellweger, Jake Gyllenhaal (yummy) and me :) John Mayer said of "Clocks", "...is Coldplay's "Where the Streets Have No Name"..." I personally don't agree...I think that in 10 years I may but right now...I appreciate every song like it's "Where the Streets Have No Name".
Here's a flashback...Top 5 Reasons I Love Coldplay
1. The songs "Everything's Not Lost" and "Shiver" have helped me deal with things in my life that were life altering and I believe nothing helps you better than a good song.
2. Chris Martin is dreamy...lil' girl answer...
3. I can put on a Coldplay cd, light some candles, listen to all three cds and cry, dance, scream, laugh and just be happy.
4. I am a mainstream kinda gal and while Coldplay is becoming more mainstream and radio-a-rific, I feel that as a band they have remained the same since Parachutes. People will argue that I don't know music and there are better bands who are unrecongnized and need my attention but too bad...this is my coldplay world.
5. this quote..."My vision is like in Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey, where they go to the future and everyone is listening to their music and there is world peace. That's what we're aiming for. That's only half a joke", Chris Martin. Anyone who refers to Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey deserves your attention.
Love Coldplay.

I've watched a few movies this weekend courtesy of Kazaa...I know, illegal. Whatever...I'm just too cheap now plus no one has wanted to go lately.
Mystic River...
what a fantastic movie. Tim Robbins was amazing and Sean Penn was...well Sean Penn. It's a movie set in my favorite city of Boston and it entagles the lives of 3 childhood friends who have lost touch. Sean Penn's character's daughter gets murdered and everyone starts to suspect Tim Robbins' character because as a child, he was kidnapped and has never really been the same. Kevin Bacon rounds out the cast as the third friend who is the police detective in charge of the case. It's well acted and written...disturbing at points but really good overall.
School of Rock...
Jack Black...hilarious as always. This time taking on kids in the same way that Adam Sandler did in Billy Madison. Of course, everyone knows the plot. Jack Black pretends to be a subsitute teacher to make some cash...he ends up not wanting to teach but once he hears the kids in music class...he decides to put away their classical instruments and bring out the rock! It's full of good music, some funny parts and some amazingly talented kids. A good watch.
Something's Gotta Give...
I just finished watching this movie and damn, it was freakin hilarious. I heard someone say it's like Romantic Comedy for the elderly. I think that's what makes it so funny though. Erica Barry (Diane Keaton)'s daughter is dating a much older man, Harry (Jack Nicholson). While vacation at the family beach house, Harry takes a heart attack. Erica ends up having to take care of him and hilariousness ensues. I thought Diane Keaton was hilarious and very foxy and stylish...she definetly doesn't look her age! Jack...well, Jack was Jack. I really don't know how those young girls can date him and not think of old musk and grandfathers...Anyways, word to the wise...nude scenes from both Jack and Diane...CAUTION! oh yeah...and Keanu Reeves is in it too...mmm..whoa...
